Norwich Rotary - Four Avenues of Service

Norwich Rotary Recently Commited $3,000 to the following project.

PROVISION OF WATER AT CHONDWE OPEN AIR PRISON

Chondwe prison is some 30KM from the city centre of Ndola located in a farming area of Zambia.The prison area has a sizeable community made up of prison staff and their families,farmers and their families and also educational staff with their families. In addition there is also a clinic which serves the prison as well as the surrounding community.

Benefits that will be derived from implmenting this project are, clean drinking water,more time for school children to go to school instead of drawing water in buckets, and generally a cleaner and healthier environment.

The Rotary Club of Ndola Mukuba wishes to provide the reticulation from a bore hole to the prison,clinic,school and prison staff residence.

Together with the Rotary Club of Norwich, and Matching Grants from RI,this project is feasible, at a total cost of $ 8,596 US.
